WA road trip takes in Margaret River region
A stunning sunset hike at Contos Cliffs
Cape to Cape Explorer Tours founder Gene Hardy led Daniel and Blake on a sunset hike to give them a taste of the Track. He chose one of his fabourite locations, overlooking Contos Cliffs with the spectacular Indian Ocean below. Wildflowers were in full bloom and birds of prey flew overhead.
Ricciardo welcome back to complete the Track
Gene says Daniel was fascinated by the flora and fauna. And he revelled in the incredible coastal scenery and fresh air. “It was so fun taking Daniel and Blake for a walk on the Cape to Cape Track,” Gene says. “They were really interested and lots of fun. They’re welcome back anytime to walk the full 132km with us on one of our guided or self-guided hiking adventures.”
Epic journey of adventure and reconnection
Tourism WA organised the road trip and says it was a chance for the Formula One champ from Western Australia to “leave the everyday behind and hit the open road”. He and Blake headed from Perth through the Margaret River Region and beyond along the South West Nature and Wine Drive.
Daniel’s adventure was billed as “an epic journey of reconnection, adventure and indulgence that awakens the senses”. And a “road trip that blends tranquility with thrilling experiences; and spectacular scenery with premium dining and world-class wine country”. We couldn’t agree more!
