There’s been more Cape to Cape Track upgrades, this time on the ascent from Bob’s Hollow up to Conto Cliffs in the section of Track south of Prevelly in the Margaret River region. This heavily eroded section used to be a real slog up decaying stairs that were slipping down the side of the cliff, and succumbing to wind, sand and erosion. Now, these new you-beaut steps make the climb a pleasure, with built-in viewing platforms to take in the ocean vistas and breaching whales.

More Cape to Cape Track upgrades to come
It comes after another section of the Track has also been improved further north between Smiths Beach and Canal Rocks. It’s one of our favourite sections of the Cape to Cape, with spectacular coastal views and challenging granite terrain. Part of the track was once a slippery scramble up loose rock in a widening zone of erosion due to foot traffic. But now it’s a safe ascent up solid steps tastefully made from the local granite. An effective solution that also adds to the beauty of this section of track!

Future proofing the Cape to Cape Track
Cape to Cape Explorer Tours extended its thanks to contractors Skywalker and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions for improving and future-proofing this iconic section of the track. And, the work has also won the praise of the region’s peak conservation group, Nature Conservation Margaret River Region.
