Cape to Cape Explorer Tours is planting for the future. We’re deepening our commitment to conservation with a new initiative focused on tree planting in Margaret River — and every guest can be part of it.
Turning every hike into real impact
For every guest who joins a multi-day Cape to Cape Track experience, we donate $5 to fund native tree planting in the Margaret River region. We partner with Nature Conservation Margaret River Region to make sure every dollar goes straight into meaningful, on-ground restoration.
Guests can also choose to do more:
- $5 plants one extra tree
- $25 plants five
- $100 plants twenty
The response has been strong. Many guests choose to offset more of their footprint and leave a positive mark on the places they explore.
Why tree planting in Margaret River matters
The Margaret River region is known for its wild coastline, ancient forests and rich biodiversity. These landscapes need active care to stay healthy.
Tree planting helps:
- restore critical habitat for native wildlife
- improve biodiversity and ecosystem health
- strengthen climate resilience
- protect the natural beauty of the region
By supporting tree planting in Margaret River, every walk contributes to the long-term health of this special place.
More than a donation
This isn’t just about funding. Our team gets involved too. We join local planting days and help put native tube stock in the ground.
It’s hands-on. It’s local. And it connects our guides, guests and community to the landscape in a deeper way.
This initiative builds on our long-standing focus on responsible travel. Cape to Cape Explorer Tours has earned multiple gold awards for ecotourism at the WA Tourism Awards. Our base, Surfpoint Resort, has also received recognition for sustainable practices and guest experience.
For founder Gene Hardy, it’s simple: tourism should give back.
The Cape to Cape Track is one of the world’s great coastal walks. What makes it truly special is the living landscape — the forests, wildlife and sense of wildness. Protecting that is everyone’s responsibility.
Working together for a bigger impact
Nature Conservation Margaret River Region has welcomed the program as a strong step toward nature-positive tourism.
CEO Aaron Jaggar says initiatives like this deliver real results where they matter most — on the ground. They restore habitat, support biodiversity and give visitors a meaningful way to contribute.
There’s also growing momentum. More tourism operators want to be part of the solution. A simple, scalable model is now in development to help other businesses get involved in tree planting in Margaret River.
This is about more than offsetting carbon. It’s about connection.
When you walk with Cape to Cape Explorer Tours, you don’t just experience the landscape — you help restore it. One step. One tree. A lasting impact. 🌱
