Julian hooks his most prized catch at Yallingup Beach
Recently Hong Kong teenager Julian Zimmer landed the catch of his life during a Margaret River fishing adventure with Cape To Cape Explorer Tours. The 13-year-old was awe-struck as he reeled in a 2.5kg yellow-tail kingfish – one of the most prized and delicious species caught in Western Australia. Confidence soars after kingfish catch
“I can’t believe it!,” Julian shouted as he held up the magnificent specimen, which he caught at sunset off Yallingup Beach. “The biggest fish I’d ever caught wasn’t a quarter as big as this. I’m so happy.”
His parents, Klaus and Yvonne Zimmer, were also ecstatic. And they said they were bursting with pride at Julian’s monster fish.”Today just exceeded all expectations,” says Klaus. “Mission accomplished! It’s the biggest fish Julian has ever caught. And he learned so much today from our fishing guides. It was a beautiful beach to visit too. We had such a great day.”

How the Margaredt River fishing adventure works
The fishing adventure begins with a pick-up in an air-conditioned van at Smiths Beach Resort. Expert guides then take the anglers to wherever the fish are biting, depending on the swell, wind and tidal conditions. All fishing rods, tackle, bait and burley is supplied. Bill is full of knowledge and always knows where the fish are biting. He suggested Yallingup Beach and that’s where we headed,” Gene says..“The fishing was slow to start with. But I was sure that when the sun started to set, we’d have some luck..“You can’t always guarantee a prize catch like that. But we do our absolute best to make sure everyone has a fantastic time – and hopefully takes home a delicious fish.”
