New Cape to Cape Track Markers
There has been a lot of thought and effort put into finding a significant logo to replace the hiker that is currently found on the Cape to Cape Track markers.
A drawing with some aboriginal similarities and symbols has been the adapted as the new logo – the two large dots on the drawing represent the lighthouses at either end of the Track, the smaller dots represent the steps taken by hikers between the Capes. The colours either side of the Track depict the amazing coastline and beaches [blue] and the coastal heath on the eastern side of the Track [Green].
The underlying message to hikers is LEAVE NO TRACE – ONLY FOOTSTEPS. “Tread gently, with respect, together we are walking. and talking on Noongar Country”
These new markers will gradually replace the old ones – all work carried out on the Cape to Cape Track is undertaken by volunteers, so this is a work in progress.
