And their customer service at Cape to Cape Explorer Tours, which specialises in adventures on Margaret River’s iconic 132km Cape to Cape Track hiking trail.

Nic nominated for individual excellence
Our accommodation general manager Nic Chirico (above) is a finalist in the Individual Excellence by a Tourism Professional category in the Perth Airport Western Australian Tourism Awards.
This award recognises an individual who demonstrates excellence and innovation in their professional work. As well as making a positive contribution to the tourism industry outside their paid employment. Nic oversees our Cape to Cape Track accommodation hub Surfpoint Resort. And does an incredible job making sure our hikers have a comfortable coastal base to come back to after a day on the Track!

Bree in the running for Golden Guide gong
Hats off to Breezy! Our talented guide Bree Zikmundovsky (above) is nominated for the FACET Golden Guide Award at the 2025 WA Tourism Awards! The Golden Guide category recognises the significant contribution quality tour guides make in providing memorable experiences to visitors through interpretation of the natural and cultural environment in a responsible manner.
Eligibility includes tour guides and coach captains working in the natural, cultural and heritage environments. In either a paid or volunteer capacity. Breezy is a natural out on the Cape to Cape Track. She gives so much care and love to our visiting hikers. She connects deeply with the Track. And has an intimate knowledge of and love for the local wildlife and indigenous culture. Well done Bree and good luck on the big night!

Fabulous Floss also shortlisted for tourism excellence
Introducing our third staff member to be nominated in a major award category at this year’s state tourism awards. Floss Hayes is our stellar Operations Manager. She runs the team of guides, drivers and catering staff. And oversees the operation at Cape to Cape Explorer Tours. As a young gun in a very senior role, she was a natural choice to be shortlisted for the Sir David Brand Young Achiever Medal at WA tourism’s night of nights.
This medal is awarded to a person under the age of 30 working in the tourism industry, able to demonstrate an ongoing contribution to the positive image of tourism in WA. Good luck Floss! Winners announced on May 28.
