Our philosophy

A ‘LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS’ PHILOSOPHY

We aim to offer a holiday experience that makes a positive impact on the natural environment and our community – among a long list of environmentally conscious and socially responsible practices, we actively contribute to management of the Track and sit on the committee of the Friends of the Cape to Cape Track volunteer group. We aim for low food miles with our catering. We have a ‘buy local’ policy. We choose minimal and recycled packaging. We’re partners with and practice the principles of the Leave No Trace Foundation. And we’ve achieved Advanced EcoAccreditation – the national benchmark for environmentally aware tourism operators.

Acknowledgement of country

Acknowledgment
of country

At Cape to Cape Explorer Tours we acknowledge Country as both the environment in which we live and work, and its own entity.

Country does not just mean the forest, creeks, rock outcrops, beaches, hills and waterholes but in fact all living things. It incorporates people, plants, climate, soil and animals. It embraces the seasons, stories and creation spirits. Country is a way of believing and a place of belonging.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this Country, the Wadandi People of the Noongar Nation, past, present and emerging. We walk through Country with a sense of awe, respect and sensitivity to Country’s sustained existence and preservation.

Cape To Cape Explorer Tours won two golds at the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards in 2025. Our founder and managing director Gene Hardy won the inaugural Local Legend gold. And our operations manager Floss Hayes was awarded the Sir David Brand Young Achiever Medal.

We’ve twice taken out the highest honours in Western Australia in the Ecotourism category, winning gold in 2017 and 2018 against some of the finest operators in a state recognised globally for its top-quality tourism.

We’ve also twice won bronze in Ecotourism (2019 and 2021). Meanwhile, our accommodation hub SurfPoint Resort won gold in the 3-3.5 Star Accommodation category in 2021, going on to win bronze in the same category at the Australian Tourism Awards.

Amazing service, experience and enthusiasm I have been in customer service all my working life and can honestly say that CCE tours are at the top of my list when it comes to wowing a customer. I travelled with my two nieces and we were all amazed at the professionalism, experience, enthusiasm and generosity of all the staff associated with CCE tours. It is the little extras that made my trip so enjoyable. The staff certainly know how to make a customer feel welcomed and appreciated. I can't rate this experience highly enough and have told many people about it.

An incredible life highlight! Walking the Cape to Cape Track was an incredible life highlight, and I’m so grateful I chose Cape to Cape Explorer Tours to make this adventure possible. A huge thank you to Gene, the owner, who was wonderful in organising everything for our group during one of the busiest weeks for the team. His care and effort in making it all come together were truly appreciated. Floss, the CEO, was so hands-on and there for us throughout the experience. A special highlight was Day 5, after the challenging Boodjidup Beach, when she had freshly baked scones ready for our morning tea. What a thoughtful and delicious surprise, and just one example of the personal touches that made this trip so special! Our guides, Scott, Kate, James, Kristie and Murray, were all incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and supportive. They shared so much about the region’s geology, marine life, flora, fauna and history, bringing the track to life each day. Just as importantly, they worked beautifully with a group of walkers with varying fitness and hiking experience, encouraging us and helping us achieve something truly special. The organisation, accommodation, food, transport and the care shown by the entire team made the whole experience so enjoyable. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and there were so many thoughtful touches along the way. Completing the Cape to Cape was challenging, rewarding and deeply memorable. I came away with a huge sense of achievement, wonderful memories and an even greater appreciation for this beautiful part of Western Australia. Thank you, Gene, Floss, our guides and the entire Cape to Cape Explorer Tours team for helping make this an unforgettable adventure and a true highlight of my life. I would wholeheartedly recommend you to anyone considering this walk!

An amazing and unforgettable experience! Highly recommended What an amazing hike! The location was stunning, flora and fauna was breathtaking- wildflowers, birds, whales, kangaroos, snakes and monitor lizards! The other participants on the hike with me were the most lovely bunch of humans and was a privilege to walk these lands with them. Cape2cape crew were brilliant- so well organised and supportive. Thankyou!

So glad we chose Cape to Cape Explorer Tours Our 5 day self guided ‘Best Of Cape to Cape’ tour was fantastic! The communication, logistics, meals, friendliness of the staff, and accommodation options were exemplary. We were very well looked after and all questions and concerns were handled with care and kindness. The walk was spectacular! Every day was different and was quite challenging in parts (68 and 70 years old). The colourful wildflowers and breathtaking views were a constant source of amazement. We were supplied with an emergency location device which provided reassurance in case of an accident or injury. We are so glad we chose Cape to Cape Explorer Tours to organise this unforgettable experience for us. It was perfect in every way.

Excellent Experience I joined a mixed group of regular Cape to Cape walkers, and a Highlights group. It was nice to have the option to walk longer days if I chose or do the shorter day, depending on how I felt. Being on a guided tour, our guides had a theme for the day. One day we would learn about flora, another indigenous information of the area, fauna, and so on. Gene and his team were excellent, providing for all of our needs. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend it for anyone thinking about going on the Cape to Cape hike.

Do yourself a favour and go with CCET! This is our third trip with CCET. Do not even contemplate using other companies (we have and suffered for it). They are so professional, all the guides are locals, knowledgeable and passionate. Nothing is a problem and you will gain many astonishing memories.
