We’re thrilled to share some exciting news — Cape to Cape Explorer Tours and Surfpoint Resort have been named finalists in the 2025 WA Tourism Awards! It’s an honour to be recognised again for our work in the Margaret River Region, and we’re feeling incredibly grateful.
Finalists in Two Categories
This year, we’re proud to be recognised in the following categories:
-
Cape to Cape Explorer Tours – Ecotourism
-
Surfpoint Resort – 3–3.5 Star Accommodation
These categories reflect what we do best: sharing the Cape to Cape Track and its spectacular environment with visitors from around the world, while providing a warm, comfortable place to stay nearby.
Cape to Cape’s History of Gold
This isn’t the first time we’ve been honoured by the WA Tourism Awards.
Cape to Cape Explorer Tours has twice previously taken home gold for Ecotourism, recognising our leadership in immersive, low-impact guided experiences along the Cape to Cape Track.
Surfpoint Resort has also claimed gold in its category, celebrating our commitment to offering affordable, quality accommodation that supports the local environment and community.
We’re hoping for a repeat this year — but being named as finalists alone is something we’re incredibly proud of.
Celebrating Our 2025 Individual Award Winners
In addition to our business being shortlisted, two of our team members achieved amazing recognition in this year’s individual awards:
-
Gene Hardy, founder of Cape to Cape Explorer Tours, won gold in the Local Legend category
-
Floss Hayes, CEO of Cape to Cape Explorer Tours, took out the Sir David Brand Young Achiever Award
These wins reflect the passion, dedication and experience that drive both our businesses. Gene and Floss are long-time champions of nature-based tourism in the Margaret River Region, and we’re beyond proud to see their work acknowledged at the highest level.
Thank You to Our Community
We couldn’t have achieved this without the support of our amazing guests, our dedicated team, and the broader Margaret River community.
From our guides and support crew to our housekeeping and front desk legends — thank you for bringing heart and energy to everything you do.
To everyone who has walked the Cape to Cape Track with us, stayed at Surfpoint, or shared a kind word along the way — this recognition belongs to you too.
Sharing the Magic of the Cape to Cape
At our core, we exist to connect people with the land, sea, and stories of the Cape to Cape region. From guided multi-day hikes to self-guided adventures and quality accommodation, our focus is on sustainability, authenticity and world-class experiences.
We can’t wait to celebrate at the WA Tourism Awards Gala on 8 November at Crown Perth — and whatever the outcome, we’ll keep doing what we love: helping others experience the wild beauty of the Cape to Cape.
