We’ve had an absolute blast this week running a hiking and yoga retreat in collaboration with the legends at Myall Yoga & Wellbeing Studio! Plenty of amazing vistas. Atmospheric weather. And learning and laughing. Not to mention wine tasting, epic accommodation at Surfpoint Resort and of course rainbows on the Cape to Cape Track!

.

Here at Cape to Cape Explorer Tours, we run guided and self-guided adventures on Margaret River’s premier hiking trail. But we also love collaborating with a bunch of groups, clubs, charities and not-for-profit organisation. All are doing great work and inspiring people to get into the great outdoors. One of them is Myall Yoga, whose yogis are regular visitors to the South-West of Western Australia. Each day they kicked off with a yoga class. Then enjoyed a guided hike on the Track. And finished the day with a resortative yoga practice. Plus there was a day of wine tasting and exploring vineyards thrown in the good measure!

Five days in the magical South-West

“We had it all during our 5 days in the magical South-West with Gene Hardy and his amazing team from Cape to Cape Explorer Tours,” says retreat coordinator Emma Pugsley. “Rain, shine, rainbows and a blood full moon. Morning flow yoga and restorative yin yoga in the evening enjoyed in the company of new friends and old. Plus restful sleep in cosy warm comfort thanks to Nic Chirico at SurfPoint Resort.”

Daily adventures on epic hiking and yoga retreat

Here is Emma’s day by day run down of the group’s adventure:

.

Day 1. We started at Ellensbrook and hiked ~14kms to the Margaret River mouth at Prevelly, with our knowledgeable and charismatic guide Trevor. He kept us suitably safe and sound in the rain, sometimes shine and many rainbows.

.

Day 2. Today we started with a rainbow over our yoga shala AKA Surfpoint Resort. But otherwise we had blue skies, sunshine and smiles all around for our 10km hike from Prevelly to Redgate with our awesome guide Mark.

.

Day 3. Our hump day in the great company of our beautiful guide Kristie was filled with surprises. We enjoyed abundant delicious food, wine and chocolate experiences thanks to Vasse Felix, Cape Grace Wines, Olio Bello and Margaret River Chocolate Company. Later we bathed in the magnificent full moon and lunar eclipse on the deck of White Elephant Cafe.

.

Day 4. We hiked 14kms from Redgate to Boranup with our champion guide Mike, in the best of company with the weather gods once again on our side!
