Thursday 16th December saw the whole team at Vasse Felix join Cape to Cape Explorer Tours for they annual ‘Vasse Felix Day’ celebration. Eighty staff based in Margaret River, Perth, Sydney and even London took a guided walk from Whaleback Rock (just north of Gracetown) to Wilyabrup Cliffs, stopping for a break at Gallows Beach.
Most of the team were tempted by a refreshing dip in the ocean before lunch, while some of the staff chose to kick back and watch the surf roll in.
A shady spot for lunch allowed everyone to wind down before we continued the rest of the hike!
Our local guides explored some of the local Geology, Flora, Fauna and Marine facts where even some of long term residents of the Capes Region claimed to have learned something new.
The second half of the leisurely walk was highlighted by an impressive performance by an excited pod of a dolphins! Unfortunately these acrobats were too speedy to be caught on film, however I don’t think any of us, including the CCET guides, will be forgetting the show in a hurry. The dolphins were launching themselves several meters into the air, gliding and backflipping through the swell lines!
Before heading back to the Estate, the team enjoyed a glance over the famously breathtaking Wilyabrup Cliff and watched the awe-inspiring abseilers hover above the ocean. What a great day had by all! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the relationship between Vasse Felix and Cape to Cape Explorer Tours.
