Spring has arrived on the Cape to Cape Track! Our spring tours on the Cape to Cape Track are now underway, and the season has started beautifully. The weather has been warm and inviting. Wildflowers are beginning to bloom, and the bush is full of life.
The 132km Cape to Cape Track runs between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin in Western Australia’s spectacular south west. It follows rugged coastline, sandy beaches, forests and wildflower-rich heathland. “Spring is a wonderful time to experience this iconic trail,” says Cape to Cape Explorer Tours founder Gene Hardy.

Wildflowers on the Cape to Cape Track
A colourful start to spring
The first spring walkers have already enjoyed a great display of native flora. Spider orchids, fairy orchids and donkey orchids are flowering along the Track. Wattle is also adding plenty of bright colour to the landscape.
Spring brings a fresh energy to the Cape to Cape Track. Flowers appear across the coastal heath, while birds and other wildlife become more active. Every day can bring a new discovery. The scenery is also spectacular at this time of year. Clear skies and warmer days make for perfect conditions on many sections of the Track. “It’s easy to see why spring tours on the Cape to Cape Track are so popular,” says Gene.

This week’s hikers tackling the Cape to Cape Track
Walkers from around the world
This week’s group for our 8-day end-to-end guided tour included walkers from across Australia, the UK and the USA. They arrived with different backgrounds and plenty of stories to share.
Cat travelled from Brisbane and loves coastal long-distance hikes. She recently walked in Cornwall and was keen to experience the Cape to Cape. Lisa and Bill came from the USA, where they split their time between Colorado and New Mexico. They are keen hikers and added the Cape to Cape to their Australian adventure.
For Sonia, the walk was a long-held bucket-list dream. Other walkers were already planning their next adventures. Some were looking forward to more hiking in Nepal, while others had their sights set on long-distance trails in Europe.
That is one of the great things about the Cape to Cape Track. It brings people together through a shared love of walking, nature and adventure.
“Spring on the Cape to Cape is something we look forward to every year,” says Gene. “The weather starts warming up, the wildflowers begin to appear and the whole landscape comes alive. It’s fantastic to have our spring tours underway again and to share this special part of the world with another season of walkers.”
For Gene and the Cape to Cape Explorer Tours team, guiding people along the Track is about much more than covering kilometres. It is about seeing the landscape up close and learning what makes this region so special.
