We love hiking for a great cause, so Cape to Cape Explorer Tours was proud to support a fundraiser for the Child In Need Institute India. Our founder Gene Hardy (pictured below) offered a day’s guided hiking on the Cape to Cape Track for two people as part of an auction in Perth that raised more than $27,000 for the institute.

The auction was part of the CINI Australia’s Mother’s Day afternoon fundraiser held at John XXIII College at Mount Claremont in Perth (pictured above). Inspired by Child in Need Institute Institute India, CINI Australia was established in 2009 in Sydney to help improve opportunities for India’s women and children. The audience heard stories of women and children in India who had benefited from CINI’s aid, especially during the Covid pandemic.
David and Judy Kaye are active members of CINI Australia. They’d previously hiked the Cape to Cape Track with us. So when the fundraiser was being organised, they approached Cape to Cape Explorer Tours to help out. “And we’re always keen to help a great cause,” says our founder Gene. “The institute is making a big difference to the lives of people in India. Plus, we’re always keen to show people like Chris and Stephanie the wonders of the Cape to Cape Track.”
“Incredible generosity” nets $27,000 for charity
Organiser Judy Kaye said the event was a huge success. “Thanks so much for the support from Cape to Cape Explorer Tours. It was fantastic to have such a great gift as part of our auction. It’s really special to have an experience on the Cape to Cape Track,” she says. “Chris is really excited to do the walk with his wife Steph. They are busy with two young sons, and are so looking forward to a parents’ adventure!”
Judy said the fundraiser raised a whopping total of $27,000. “The success of the day is really because of the incredible generosity of so many local businesses,” she says. “We absolutely couldn’t have done it without them.”

We can’t wait to welcome Chris and Steph. And show them some of the wonders of the Cape to Cape Track. It traverses 124km through a stunning variety of terrain. While they’ll only be joining us for a day, most of our guided adventures run for 7 days walking every step of the Track.
