Sian Lloyd, famous for her weather presenting and travel writing, has a great love for Australia. She recently joined Cape to Cape Explorer Tours for some time on the Track.
Gene Hardy, Managing Director of Cape to Cape Explorer Tours and experienced tour guide was thrilled to share his knowledge with bubbly celebrity Sian Lloyd and her photographer husband Jonothan Ashman on their two day Cape to Cape experience.
“Ms Lloyd was great fun to be around,” Mr Hardy said.
“It was a great pleasure to be able to show Ms Lloyd, who is already passionate about Australia and a great advocate for it, another very beautiful pocket of our country,” he said.
As a bonus Mr Ashman was taken for a paddle out in the water, Mr Hardy’s favourite past time other than the Track.
“I took him out for a tandem surf at Huzza’s,” Mr Hardy said. “Jonathan was a real natural and we scored a couple of great waves”.
On day one the couple enjoyed the dramatic change in topography, scenic lookouts and incredible coastline from Smiths Beach to Injidup.
Their second day was spent in awe of the coastal cliffs and the majestic karri forest whilst they trekked from Redgate to Boranup, one of the most scenic parts of the Track. A highlight for Ms Lloyd was being approached, not by native animals, but by a couple of hunky surfers at Redgate Beach.
During the Cape to Cape experience, Ms Lloyd said that this was one of the best parts of her trip to Australia.
She tweeted that she “Had a fab days hiking…” and was feeling “…on top of the world”.
Ms Lloyd tries to return every couple of years in the name of writing and to fulfill her desire for the vast and vivid country.
