When it comes to epic vistas, the views on the Cape to Cape Track are impossible to beat. And here’s a series of stunning photos featuring Cape to Cape Explorer Tours founder Gene Hardy taking in some of the finest outlooks on Margaret River’s 124km coastal hiking trail.

Whale spotting from Wilyabrup Cliffs with Gene

Gene is no stranger to photo shoots. Firstly he’s appeared in plenty of them during his days as a competitive surfer. And now, he features regularly in Tourism WA and Tourism Australia campaigns. He’s become legendary for his knowledge and enthusiasm for the Margaret River Region and the Cape to Cape Track. Not to mention his afro of wild blond hair!

The best ways to spend time in WA’s South-West

So when the folks at Eagle Bay Brewing Company just up the road got in touch, Gene was only too happy to help out. They’re filming and photographing a new campaign showcasing some of the best ways to spend time in WA’s South-West. And of course that included hiking and taking in the views on the Cape to Cape Track!

Sunny skies and light winds make for perfect hiking on the Track

Photographer Ryan Murphy captured these great images. Under perfect sunny skies and with light winds, conditions couldn’t have been better. Gene said the location, at the famous Wilyabrup Cliffs, was the perfect spot for whale watching and taking in the epic views on the Cape to Cape Track.
