A Cape to Cape Track trail run experience is now available for those wanting the ultimate physical challenge in pristine nature.

Cape To Cape Explorer Tours has launched a self-guided option for tackling the Margaret River region’s 124km Cape to Cape Track in just three days.

We already offer guided and self-guided end-to-end hikes over seven days. And a self-guided “Fast and Furious” experience to hike the entire track in 5 days.

But Cape To Cape Explorer Tours founder Gene Hardy says the new 3-day Cape to Cape Track trail run experience is for those wanting the test their limits.

“We’re getting a lot of enquiries from people wanting the run the Track. From athletes who are into ultra-marathons. And generally from people seeking the ultimate physical challenge in a pristine, natural environment,” Gene says.

“So it’s prompted us to introduce the 3-day Cape to Cape Track trail run. And it’s going to be very popular.

“You’re essentially running a marathon every day for three days. But you’re doing it through some of the most amazing, rugged coastal terrain in Western Australia.”

Rankin Salinas (pictured right on a recent Cape to Cape Track training run) is a Perth ultramararthon runner who is running the Track next year in under 24 hours to raise money for endangered cockatoo conservation.

He said the Cape to Cape Track was the perfect trail running venue, combining nature on a grand scale with challenging terrain including soft sand.

“It’s a great trail to run,” he says. “It’s a challenge for the body and the mind.”

Cape to Cape Track trail run highlights

Meanwhile, Gene says the pace is fast on the 3-day trail run. But there are many highlights on the way.

“You’ve got white-sand beaches,” he says. “And coastal heath, wildflowers and orchids.”

“You’ll encounter rocky scrambles over ancient granite. And a section of epic forest when you hit the giant Karri trees in Boranup Forest.”

The package includes all Track transfers at the start and end of each day’s run. All meals and trail lunches. And 4 nights accommodation at Gnarabup. That’s right in the middle of the Cape to Cape Track.

“We will take care of your accommodation bookings and track transfers,” says Gene.

“And we’ll secure you with maps, guidebook and our own custom track notes. Plus we’ll provide exceptional local catering.

“As the local experts, we provide you with up-to-date weather and Track conditions, and are on call every day to extract you, if needed, from the Cape to Cape Track.”
